Early Career Networking Hour: Increasing Your Clinical Competence

PAs in their first 5 years of practice are invited to join PA Jennifer Barnett for an informal networking event on strategies to increase clinical competence during the early years of practice. The session will explore practical approaches to building confidence, enhancing decision-making, and strengthening core clinical skills. Participants will engage in interactive discussion, share experiences, and leave with a personal action step to support ongoing professional growth.

PA Barnett’s presentation will be recorded and made available on Career Central. However, the Q&A and discussion that follows will not be recorded to protect the privacy of all attendees. Please note that this event is available exclusively to AAPA members.

Speaker: Jennifer L. Barnett, DMSc, PA-C, CPHQ, SFHM, DFAAPA

PA Barnett is a hospital medicine physician associate with more than two decades of clinical experience and a passion for advancing quality, safety, and leadership in healthcare. She currently practices at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, serves as adjunct faculty in multiple Doctor of Medical Science programs, and is active in national leadership through the Society of Hospital Medicine, the American Academy of Physician Associates, and the Maryland Academy of PAs. Dr. Barnett has led successful quality improvement initiatives, mentored the next generation of PAs, and continues to champion the role of PAs as innovators and leaders in patient-centered care.
